Chronicles Of Vaeltaja Update v.0.7.3.8


Good day, Traveller!

As those, who follow Chronicles of Vaeltaja's Steam forum, already know that I've decided to delay the 'Islands of the Prophets' update few weeks. For some time now I've been eager to move on to the new areas of the game, but all kinds of adjustments and graphical upgrades have always drawn me back to the old areas with every update so far. And because there are still some things I want to improve (mostly visual stuff), I've decided that with 'Prophets of Islands' and this new update I want to wrap things in the existing areas, so I can finally fully focus on the upcoming areas and content. This current update takes the first steps towards that goal by making some changes to some interior graphics and fixing few bugs.

I will spend the next few weeks by improving things even further, adding the missing content to the old areas and finalizing the content of the 'Islands of the Prophets'. After I release the update, I will fully focus on the next overworld area 'Autumn Valley'. I am still aiming to release the 'Islands of the Prophets' update in November and I really hope there won't be any delays.

Chronicles of Vaeltaja has changed a lot during this first year in Early Access and I try my best that the final version will be finished and released during 2025.

PATCH NOTES

ADDED

  • Historian's house is added and his house can be found in the Castle Town South. He lives in the only building in the that has been locked until now.
  • Plants to the Castle and some house interiors.
  • Torches to the Castle Town Guard Captain's room.
  • Windows to the Pramean Administrator.

CHANGES

  • Improved wall textures to some house interiors, such as the Fisherman's House.
  • New wall textures to the old structure on the Twin Falls Beach.
  • New door sprites in every house interior.
  • New plant sprites in every house interior.
  • New window sprites in every house interior, Twin Falls Castle, Pramean Lighthouse and Wizard's Tower.
  • Window sprites now change according to the time of the day.
  • Side walls of the shelves now have right colours.
  • Slightly raised Grinner's magic attack.

FIXES

  • Cemetery Catacombs, Traveller's Hall and Wizard Tower can now be fully mapped.
  • Spirit Lantern now works properly.
  • All Warlock gear can be used on the same level.
  • Grinner in the Wizard's Tower's 5th floor doesn't appear too early (may not work properly with old saves).
  • All the shelves now face the right direction in the Wizard's Tower's top floor.
  • Using the Travel Crystal in Wizard's Tower's top floor no longer affect the day/night cycle.
  • Gold Ring quest can now be completed even if the ring is found before the quest starts.
  • Pramean Silk quest should work better now.
  • Witch Hunter can finally learn skills again.
  • Two of the Castle Town npcs no longer change to wrong face while walking.

That's about it. I still have a feeling that I'm forgetting something, but then again, I always have that feeling when writing these announcements. Nevertheless, I hope you will enjoy the game and look forward to future updates as much as I do!

It's a pleasure following development of your game. It's clearly a work of love and dedication and I'm glad to be onboard. I didn't venture far into the game as of yet as I fear not being able to continue in updated versions with my savegame. Is this fear justified?
